A 65-year-old woman had just left the Aldi store on Bessingby Retail Park between approximately 1135 and 1145hrs on Thursday 26 July when she was approached by two people. A woman is said to have bumped into the 65-year-old with some force, causing her to lose balance. The suspect grabbed hold of the victim’s forearms to prevent her from falling to the ground and apologises before walking away in the company of the other person. The woman then realised that her purse was missing from inside her handbag. The suspect is described as a white woman, aged about 40 years, 5ft 6ins tall, medium build, with bleached blond hair that had dark roots and was cut into a short bob. She was quite scruffy in appearance and she spoke in a rough voice. The stolen purse was a black Marks and Spencer’s purse with white stitching and it contained cash, bank cards and a key. The victim sustained some bruising to her forearms but was otherwise unhurt. Anyone who saw the incident, recognises the description of the suspect or knows the whereabouts of the stolen purse is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 378 of 30 July 2012.
