It is alleged that a 14-year-old girl was walking home alone along
The man is said to have spoken to the teenager and invited her into his car but the girl refused and ran away home where she informed her parents about the incident.
At no stage did the man get out of his car or make any attempt to touch the girl, the exchange was only verbal.
The accosting is said to have happened at approximately 2200hrs as the girl was walking home from youth club.
The man, who was driving a silver coloured car and was alone in the vehicle, drove off after the conversation.
It is unclear what the intentions of the driver were and police would like to identify and speak to him.
The driver, or anyone who saw the teenager or the car on Hilderthorpe Road in Bridlington at the relevant time, is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 849 of 19 April 2013 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
