The incident happened on
The man was seen to look around the Renault Clio Extreme car, registration SG53OXZ, which was parked and for sale out on the driveway.
The man then knocked on the door of the address and said he was interested in buying the car.
The man stated his girlfriend had just passed her driving test and was interested in the car. He asked about the MOT and then asked to see documents. The owner of the car opened the vehicle to get out the documents.
The car owner started the vehicle so the would-be buyer could listen to the engine and try the clutch.
He then offered money for the car however at a lower price that the owner was asking for and so the offer was declined.
The man is then said to have driven the vehicle away without warning at a normal speed and in doing so the offside front wheel drove over the owner’s right foot but no injury.
The owner got into his own vehicle and started following him for a short time but lost track of the Clio.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 577 of 24 April 2013.
